A blog filled with wit and sarcasm...aaah...refreshing. Translates into "Emily doesn't like pepperoni"...or so said my mom. At least she tried to, anyway. Welcome to the circus.

First of all, thanks to Tiger for updating on my behalf. :) Much appreciated to know you're alive and kickin'. Although it seems you've turned into a kitten...

Anyway, Happy Park(ing) Day!!!

It all started in San Fran back in 2005, I do believe...turning metered parking spaces into, well, 'parks'. Yes, they had to feed the meters and rightfully own that space for a period of time, just like someone parking a car there would.

It brings attention to the fact that these spaces can be used for things other than parking cars, that public transportation is there! I love the bus! (And no, not just the short bus.) This is public space and people can do what they want with it. I'm sure some people just don't get why this is taking place...it is a bit odd...but very cool nonetheless. I do wonder how many more p-o'd people were driving around the streets of San Fran trying to find a parking spot this morning?

About 1500 Alaskans, men and women, turned out for a protest rally against Sarah Palin on Saturday! They wanted to let everyone know that their governor does NOT represent their views on some important issues. Here are some pictures from that rally (copyrighted to frsbdg.dailykos.com):

It's less than 8 weeks until election day, so if you're still undecided, please take a look at what's going on with this election; don't just vote one way because you've always voted that way, or because your parents or friends support that party. We're putting these people in charge of our country, for crying out loud. As for how I'm voting, I don't like what I'm seeing these days. I try to listen to as many debates and speeches as I can stomach, and when I listen to McCain and Palin, I get a little scared. I know Barack Obama isn't perfect, but at least he has a solid head on his shoulders.
