I'm back!!

It only took me four months this time! Oh boy...what can I say? Once a blog neglector, always a blog neglector? I'm still working at the local medical school, doing research in the cardiology department. It's really interesting and I'm getting patient contact and great experiences, but I'm still itching to go back to school. I'm also working on that...money and time are some big issues, as I'm sure you're all aware.

I'm training for the Nike Women's Marathon in SanFrancisco on October 19th...woo hoo!! I'm doing it as a part of Team in Training again, a training program run through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I wanted to do this last year, but had some back problems and was not able to complete the training, which really bummed me out. So this year, I'm back (pun TOTALLY intended) and it's going well. We raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while getting the support and training from a great group of people. I'm running this marathon for our honored patient, Jesus Vega, and my Grandma Dot, who passed away from complications from lymphoma. I'm very excited to do this and am now up to a long run of 12 miles (almost halfway there!!!).
